The Killing (1956)

Hoezo in KINO

“None of these men are criminals in the usual sense. They’ve all got jobs. They all live seemingly normal, decent lives. But, they’ve got their problems and they’ve all got a little larceny in ‘em.” Stanley Kubrick’s depiction of a five man race-track robbery is a devious and devilishly clever film with a non-linear structure and an untrustworthy narrator to add to all the confusion. The film was deemed too intricate for audiences and was dumped by the studio but Kubrick’s directorial brilliance was noticed by the likes of Kirk Douglas, who hired him for his next two films and the rest is Hollywood history. English language without subtitles.
