Art of the Heist Classic

The Italian Job (1969)

Hoezo in KINO

“You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!” This automotive crime caper comedy is more British than a drunk bulldog wearing a Union Jack onesie and depicts a rather upbeat side of the heist genre. We follow Michael Caine’s Charlie, fresh out of the pokey and determined to complete a daring heist in Turin that one of his old mates couldn’t pull off. His crack team drive a small fleet of Mini Coopers to navigate the getaway through the narrow streets of the Italian metropole with the goal to retire comfortably after a job well done. Charming, a bit cheeky but above all great fun. English language without subtitles.
