Hoezo in KINO

We have to pinch ourselves sometimes, but this October KINO is really turning seven. And what better title to celebrate this momentous occasion than Akira Kurosawa’s epic masterpiece of action cinema, Shichinin no Samurai. The Japanese maverick’s oeuvre is rather difficult to come by around these parts but we have successfully navigated the Japanese film studio bureaucracy to screen this crown jewel of world cinema not once, but twice! The film will be presented in a beautifully restored digital print, with an intermission in which we provide the option to enjoy a Japanese-styled hotdog from our NIKO’s chef and an Asahi beer. Japanese language with English subtitles.
