Kaboom Anime Series

KABOOM Animation Festival presents a continuing series of the best anime classics Japan has to offer. On every third Wednesday, from January to June of 2024, KINO screens a favourite animated feature that was barely if ever present in the Dutch cinemas, at the time. The six feature-length anime films range from epic space opera, iconic video game adaptation and WWII drama to gothic fantasy and futuristic action. Don’t miss out! All titles are presented in the original Japanese language with English subtitles. This event is a collaboration with KABOOM Animation Fesstival, Melkweg Cinema and Slachtstraat Filmtheater. All films will be introduced by Noa Mac Donald. She is a 2D animator and mixed media artist based in Rotterdam and has worked as a reviewer for the Kaboom Animation Festival for the last three years and is a connoisseur of obscure animation.
