Special Nicolas Cage

Leaving Las Vegas (1995)

Hoezo in KINO

We’re convinced no other actor could have made this protagonist’s descent into oblivion bearable in Mike Figgis’ beautifully melancholic Leaving Las Vegas. Cage is truly brilliant in his Oscar winning turn as a man set on departing this realm doing the only thing he’s still capable of: ingesting copious amounts of liquor. Elisabeth Shue rivals her co-star’s performance as a Sin City streetwalker who takes pity on him. An unflinching yet compassionate and sometimes even humorous look at addiction. English language without subtitles.
