To celebrate the release of Mark Cousins’ excellent fourteen hour documentary series Women Make Film KINO will screen thirteen films spanning seven decades made by women directors. This selection emphasizes the wide range and broad variety of genres women have not only excelled at but in fact pioneered. From 50’s film noir, 60’s nouvelle vague, 70’s guerilla independent films to 80’s favorites and modern classics that set the standard for getting ‘unfilmable’ book adaptations to the screen. No Man’s Land is a celebration of the work of women directors spanning all genres and styles, ranging from bonafide classics to yet-to-be-discovered arthouse milestones.
