We know Tony Bourdain, sunglasses on, nursing a cold beverage on a street vendor’s plastic terrace in a faraway metropolis, living The Life. The chef turned writer turned culinary traveller communicated in his own unique way the joy he felt sitting down with strangers and friends alike to share a meal. As a champion of the common man, Bourdain could devour a deep-fried treat wrapped in old newspapers with the same reverence as a three Michelin star dish. His sudden death in 2018 revealed a struggle with depression and this documentary brings his public and private persona together to find the man behind the image(s). A heartfelt ode to a life lived fully, even when it ended too soon. Screenings start December 16th, only in KINO.
A gripping portrait of the inimitable Anthony Bourdain, Oscar®-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville’s new documentary Roadrunner traces the unlikely life and career of the chef turned bestselling author and global television star through the eyes of the people who knew him best.
