In anticipation of the Scottish director’s newest outing Die My Love, premiering November 19th, we’re screening Lynne Ramsay’s previous four feature films. Her oeuvre deals with damaged protagonists, both mentally and physically, articulated by a lingering camera that pays close attention to the (often battered and bruised) bodies of her characters, accompanied by a masterfully selected pop-song soundtrack that conveys emotion perfectly. Ramsay communicates a unique cinematic language that transcends genre and finds beauty just as easily in a whitebread lunch consumed in a trash pile as it does in a bloodied sing-a-long lying on a dirty kitchen floor. We’re proud to screen Ratcatcher, Morvern Callar, We Need to Talk About Kevin and You Were Never Really Here, starting October 20th.
