As an extension to our collaboration with the UvA Green office in Amsterdam, Asian Movie Night will bring Ripples, Echoes, and What if the Earth Whispers to KINO Rotterdam. With this edition, we further explore topics around Indigenous lands and territories, kinship and knowledge that are disproportionately affected by climate change, capitalist economies, exploitation of resources and destructive policies. How can we listen to the Earth, the knowledges its people have inherited while keeping capitalist impulses to greenwash and appropriate at bay? Where can our attempts to (un)learn and shift our relationships to the land and communities we live with lead us? This programme follows our previous edition Listening Nearby. Through Soils and Seas, and consists of some already screened, and some new films.
Zestig jaar oud en nog altijd springlevend: The Sound of Music blijft een van de mooiste klassiekers om samen in een volle zaal te beleven. Te zien in glorieus 70mm, het formaat waarin hij bedoeld is.
We're back with a Stop Making Sense dance party! Yes, dancing is allowed in the screening room and to get you in the mood tickets include a This Must be the Cocktail.
AMN is happy to come back to the KINO with absurdism, creature-feature, body-horror: a special double bill program with two films in one night: Hiruko the Goblin (1991) and Vampire Clay (2017).
