We’re all looking for connection. These four filmmakers have found their own take on that and explore the sometimes absurd sides of being human. Between surviving alone, getting pressured by your friends or even finding lovers with very unique characteristics… This programme includes Q&A’s with the graduation students moderated by Guido F.G. Jeurissen.

Storyline

  • Olyckor i Tillvaron, för en man som lider tyst by Sam Bogstedt. Short film. Lost inside a vast fluorescent parking garage, a weary working man searches for his car while reality slowly dissolves into an absurd reflection on modern life and human hopelessness. Advisory age: 9+
  • Shit Happens by Simon Chitoroagă. Short film. Desperate for a lover, Billy starts seeing Carrie who hides a bizarre secret. Advisory age: 14+
  • Cross My Heart by Iga Wojak. Short film. After an unsuccessful attempt to buy beer by underage teenagers, Ref is blackmailed into stealing it. Pushed by a disloyal friend, he needs to reconsider their friendship for the sake of his own values. Advisory age: 14+
  • In Pieces by Amalia Villacis Miranda. Short film. After finding herself injured and alone, Thea must follow instructions left by a mysterious caretaker in order to survive. Trigger warning: Contains depictions of blood and injury detail. Advisory age: 12+
