WdKA Graduation shorts: Documentary 2 – In Control?

Whether the control of our surroundings and our reaction to it might sometimes be in or out of our control, these short documentaries all deal with their own perspective on what taboo might mean for them in everyday life. This programme includes Q&A’s with the graduation students moderated by Sibrich Wijnia.

Storyline

  • Paniek! by Timon Drost. Short film. Paniek!’ is an immersive documentary about the experiences of people who suffered from panic attacks. Trigger warning: Contains photosensitive content (stroboscopic effects). Advisory age: 12+
  • Becoming the Warden by Tijmen Snoep. Short film. Joeri (53), a timid IT-consultant from Delft turned amateur actor, tries to become a screaming prison warden in a prison break experience. 
  • Steeds als de Bloesems Bloeien by Thijs Moekestorm. A short film. As a 15-year-old girl, your world is turned upside down when you’re diagnosed. Besides battling the pain, you’re also confronted with the taboo surrounding the term. You have cancer. Trigger warning: Contains depictions of amputation. Advisory age: 9+
