A collection of animated films, trailers, and work in progress from WdKA graduates of various bachelor programmes. Please note: there are no Q&A’s following the animation blocks.

Storyline

  • Mr Sun & Miss Universe by Souffien Melad & Alina Najum. Short film. When superstar Louis (also known as “Mr Sun” for his golden locks and grand personality) realizes that he is going bald, he embarks on a cosmic journey in which he re-evaluates his relationship to the transient nature of his body. Trigger warnings: flashy colors.
  • Little October by Matas Pakutinskas. Short film. Two young pioneers of communism are honored with a promotion to serve their great nation on the fabled ‘Red Wall’—but the price of loyalty comes with a sacrifice. Trigger warning: contains body horror elements. Advisory age: 12+
  • Broken by Hyewon Jung. Short film. In a group clinic of broken dolls, a broken doll shares about its story.
  • Good Enough by Mandie van Yperen. Short film. When her room threatens to overflow from a leaky roof, Rainn must learn to embrace and live with the water she is trying so hard to ignore.
  • State of Nothing by Karina Krumova. Short film. A woman, desperate to avoid heartbreak, submerges herself into apathy and does everything she can to suppress her emotions, until a shooting star brings chaos and a hint of happiness into her world. 
  • Refraction by Andrea de Barros Rivera. Moving storyboard about a shell character who goes on a quest to find the faraway house inside the machine at his opticians office
  • How Spiders Learned to Fly by Yelyzaveta Lidova, Lara Schmitz, Marta Pawlowska and Niki Pangelova. Short film. An old woman is confronted with a choice: confess her feelings to the man of her dreams, or be turned into a spider. Advisory age: 14+.
  • Straight Forward by Lucas Tepper. Film trailer where a straight man’s worst nightmare is a Dragdemon in flats.
  • Meet me in the Garden by Alice Gaponova. Film trailer. Returning to her abandoned home, a girl encounters a mysterious forest creature. She follows the shape-shifting entity into the wilderness, determined to reveal its true identity. Advisory age: 12+.
