Prepare to be surprised by these films that push the boundaries of what film can be. These graduates take you on a sensory journey through love, self-discovery, and disconnection, using dance, music, and hybrid storytelling.
All films are made by Audiovisual Design graduates of WdKA and will be followed by a Q&A with the makers.

Storyline

  • Sir. Geon by Davida Hoddenbagh. Film trailer. A lonely surgeon’s obsessive search for his soul leads him to dig into his own body, revealing the fragility of human existence. Advisory age: 12+.
  • The Search by Samera Yosef. The Search is a hybrid documentary that follows a filmmaker’s journey of self-discovery as she revisits the past and reflects on identity, growing up and finding her way back to herself.
  • Synthesis by Julie Chirtes. A performance trailer navigating the uncanny space between human and machine creativity. Trigger warnings: flashing lights. Advisory age: 16+.
  • Dancing in Disconnect by Oona Boot. Short film. Gracefully lost in the performance of perfection, she moves through a world choreographed by algorithms. A visual poem capturing the quiet tension between connection and isolation.
  • There was One, There was None by Yasmin Shahbahrami. Short film about two friends who try to keep their connection alive as time, distance and evolving identities reshape the special bond that once defined them. Advisory age: 14+.
  • When Yin Meets Yang by Young-Ju Yoo. Short film. A South Korean woman expresses love in poetic, deeply emotional ways, while her Dutch partner struggles to communicate love in an unfamiliar way. As they confront cultural and linguisticbarriers and differences in look in their relationship across three distinct universes, they question whether love can truly bridge the gaps between their differences.
