Hoezo in KINO

With Presence, Soderbergh delivers a sleek and inventive ghost story, filmed entirely from a single location and seen through the perspective of an invisible presence. The film keeps things intimate, but its impact is all the greater — claustrophobic, precise, and unexpectedly moving. This isn’t horror, but a gripping moral drama. Featuring an outstanding performance by Lucy Liu and an equally strong supporting cast, the camerawork — directed by Soderbergh under his alias Peter Andrews — becomes a character in its own right. In May, KINO offers a double dose of Soderbergh with the premiere of Black Bag as well. Presence screens exclusively at KINO and is not subtitled.
