Hoezo in KINO

Director Tony Scott’s nihilistic buddy cop movie written by Shane Black (Lethal Weapon, The Nice Guys) utilizes what seems like only smartass one-liners and ingenious verbal takedowns as its dialogue, is just peak Bruce Willis for us. The relative upbeat gung-ho of Die Hard is replaced by cynic resignation interspersed with brutal violence, but somehow finds humor in all the protagonists misery, and all thanks to Willis’ unrelenting charisma and star power that has us rooting for him even when he’s sleeping one off in his car. With Damon Wayans’ self loathing ex-football prodigy as his polar opposite partner of inconvenience, a private detective leaves a trail of destruction in LA as he tries to solve a case that seems to spiral out of control. The Last Boy Scout is so much fun and an era-defining action comedy with a majestic supporting cast that should be experienced with an audience and of course on 35mm. Storyline

Somewhere in Los Angeles, the city of broken dreams, a stripper is murdered. Now, the private detective she had hired and her ex-footballer boyfriend are going to find her murderer… if they don’t kill each other first. But the more they dig, the deeper they become enmeshed in a web of extortion, blackmail and corrupt politics hidden beneath the surface of professional football.
