Hoezo in KINO

The most controversial studio film of the 90’s returns to KINO, presented on a Dutch subtitled 35mm print for its 35th anniversary. Oliver Stone’s political filmmaking and critical stance against the government that sent him to Vietnam to fight a futile war, made him the perfect director to take on the Herculean task of converting the JFK murderplot into a cinematic experience. After Platoon, Stone was seen as a trusted voice for historical material and even as the conscience of the country grappling with its past. Stone described JFK as “counter myth to the Warren Commission” and presented the events before, during and after November 22nd 1963 as a perplexing barrage of plots, schemes, suspects, and motives that pushed the investigators and the audience “through the looking glass”. Kevin Costner leads a plethora of fantastic character actors in a film that defined how the world looks at the events itself and the US Government ‘deep state’ as a whole, in one the best American features of the decade. English language with Dutch subtitles. Presented in 35mm and with an intermission.
