Hoezo in KINO

The story follows the survivors of a bus shooting, a driver (Koji Yakusho from Perfect Days), a brother and sister who were passengers, as they struggle to recover and make sense of their lives. It’s a quiet, deeply human exploration of how trauma lingers and the different ways people cope with it. The film’s sepia tones reflect the characters’ emotional disconnection and enhances the film’s meditative, post-traumatic mood. Running close to four hours, Aoyama unpacks themes of grief, healing, and human connection, leaving a lasting impression.
