Hoezo in KINO

Vera Chytilová directed her anarchic surrealist comedy Daisies within the state-sanctioned film studio system but as soon as the film was released the power that be were so displeased with its “wanton” excesses on display, it was banned from exhibition, as was de young director from producing any more joyful feminist cinema. The film depicts two friends that decide that in a spoiled, wasteful world the only option is to act accordingly. The film playfully utilizes many styles and genres and touches on the French New Wave more than once. All films will be presented in the original language with English subtitles.
