Special Classic Robert Redford
A Requiem for Redford:

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)

Hoezo in KINO

“Think ya used enough dynamite there, Butch?” In the same year Easy Rider upset old Hollywood with its nihilistic approach to the road movie, superstar Paul Newman fought for a young up-and-comer named Robert Redford to be cast as the titular Sundance Kid to his Butch Cassidy. A charming western romp infused with the zeitgeist (especially the score) but its fatalism is padded with some lighthearted robbery – stationary and on the move – made into an instant classic by the sheer charisma supernova created by the two leads’ kinetic bromance. A charming and fun movie that laid the foundation for Redford’s steady rise as the biggest film star of the seventies. English language without subtitles.
