Hoezo in KINO

Gelukkig vond het trio Linklater, Hawke en Delpy een manier om hun twee romantische Before-films uit te breiden tot een trilogie door met hun losse, erotische, praatgrage stijl  nog een laag dieper te duiken – dit keer in de complexiteit van ouderschap en volwassen relaties. De drie creëerden er hun meest succesvolle film tot nu toe mee, zowel onder critici als bij het bioscooppubliek. Before Midnight vormt het perfecte sluitstuk van één van de allermooiste filmtrilogieën, tegelijkertijd de deur openhoudend voor een vierde deel. Hoewel die in 2022 (wederom negen jaar later) helaas niet tot ons kwam, zegt Linklater “who the hell knows”. Wij hopen er vurig op.

With this, they created their most successful film to date, both among critics and at the box office. Before Midnight forms the perfect conclusion to one of the most beautiful film trilogies, while still leaving the door open for a fourth part. Although this did not come to us in 2022 (again nine years later), Linklater says ‘who the hell knows.’ We fervently hope for it.
