KINO presents: Focus on Friedkin
To start 2020 properly we leave the Christmas cuddliness behind for a week of exploring one of our favourite directors: William “Hurricane Billy” Friedkin. The fearless director that cut his teeth in documentary features brought this visceral sense of reality to his fiction oeuvre, planting even the most fantastical themes firmly in reality and making the implausible tangible. Starting the 6th of January we screen two Friedkin features, To Live and Die in L.A. and The Exorcist: Director’s Cut and the documentary Friedkin Uncut.
Friedkin Uncut (2018)
In this documentary, the hotshot director of The Exorcist and The French Connection, now 83 years old, is interviewed about his career, and a number of his colleagues and admirers weigh in with reminiscences and tributes.
