It’s going to be a cosy winter in KINO when on December 18th the whole Ghibli gang returns to our cinema with fifteen films from the visionary and dizzyingly original Japanese animation giant. The Ghibli films have a massive range in subject matter and genre, but certain themes return time and again in these animated stories; strong female leads, magical transformative creatures, and the ever-perpetuating desire to take to the skies. But whichever Ghibli title you encounter, the love for the craft and the creation of fantastically immersive worlds shine through in every frame of the hand-drawn animation, inviting the viewer’s inner child to take center stage in the experience. All films will be presented in the original Japanese language with English subtitles.
